On the Calendar

Chart your own course with a stay that pairs campus culture, the calm retreat of The Study, and the best of spring and summer in Chicago. Exhibits and activities on campus, summer camps and academic programs for both kids and adults, and active sporting and cultural calendar make Chicago a top 2026 travel destination that delivers on every level.

Obama Presidential Center

Opening this June in Jackson Park, the monumental campus is expected to generate a level of buzz not seen since the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair. Unlike the Columbian Expo, this lakeside landmark is built to last, with a museum, library, recreation, and community spaces designed for locals and global visitors alike.

The Obama Presidential Center is minutes from The Study via a stroll or ride through tree-lined Midway Plaisance Park. Join the center’s email list for the latest updates on ticket sales and opening events, and book your stay to be among the first to experience the Obamas' living legacy this summer.

March 24 through July 5, explore the Smithsonian’s collection of works by painter Alma Thomas at UChicago's Smart Museum of Art. Designer Paul Tazewell’s costumes from iconic Broadway and Hollywood productions are also on view at the Griffin Museum of Science and Industry, now through September 7.

Hyde Park's 57th Street Art Fair returns for its 79th season the weekend of June 6-7. The region’s preeminent art fair welcomes more than 20,000 visitors with free admission, live Chicago blues, and hundreds of artists from around the neighborhood and across the Midwest.
